Nadia Wamunyu is a Kenyan contemporary visual artist based in Nairobi.
“At the tender age of eight, I realized I could record my memories, experiences, tastes, and feelings through drawing. Her art feels like a relief from the stress of vocal communication that she struggles with. Her wild brush is the only tool that complies with the dance of the rhythm of her soul with every motion and brushstroke she makes. Her inspiration and mentor has been Patrick Mubaki who she found as a student in 2010. She has shown her artwork at Lamu Fort, British Council, Kerry Packer Civic Gallery in South Australia, Absa Art Gallery in South Africa, US Embassy, Nairobi Museum, and many more places.”
